Unlicensed Dodge Challenger Hellcat Driver Running Away From Police Strikes Officer

A 24-year-old man has been hit with multiple charges in St St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana after hitting a police officer with his white Dodge Challenger Hellcat.

Kody McElveen was being pursued by police at the time when a deputy with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office deployed spike strips on Highway 36 near Covington. Video of the incident shows McElveen veering towards the officer who was waiting on the side of the road before hitting him with the passenger side of the muscle car, flinging the officer to the ground.

4WWL reports that the 24-year-old drove down I-12 and exited Louisiana Highway 1077. The Challenger was soon found in a Rouse’s parking lot and witnesses claimed that McElveen was in the store. He attempted to flee the scene on foot but was arrested by deputies. He was carrying a gun at the time.
