Alleged Car Thieves Spectacularly Crash In Reverse Into Dollar General Store

Dramatic security camera footage has emerged online showing the moment that an allegedly stolen sedan was crashed into the side of a Dollar General store.

Many key details about the incident remain unclear. However, a post on Reddit suggests the crash occurred roughly a month ago and involved a black Genesis. We also know that it happened in St. Louis, Missouri.

In the footage, the black sedan quickly comes into view from the right and is seen sliding backward. It slides across a large intersection, narrowly avoiding two cars and a pair of pedestrians, before smashing directly into a bench at a bus stop and slamming through the brick wall of the Dollar General store. The car so neatly slides into the side of the building that it looks like something out of a Hollywood film.

Shortly after the impact, a number of men who were inside the car can be seen fleeing on foot, seemingly uninjured and clearly wanting to escape the area before authorities arrived on the scene.

The Redditor who posted the video claims that the police have been unable to find the men involved as all security camera footage showed the thieves wearing hoodies and masks.

While we can’t see how much damage the Genesis sustained in the crash, it is claimed that it was totaled, which doesn’t come as much of a surprise given how much of a shunt the rear-end sustained. As for the building, a look on Google Street View shows that the hole in the side of the store has simply been boarded up with wood.
